EGR Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENTS




INSPECTION

1. REMOVE EGR VALVE
2. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
3. INSPECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance:
64 - 97 kohms at 50 °C (122 °F)
11 - 16 kohms at 100 °C (212 °F)
2 - 4 kohms at 150 °C (302 °F)

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

4. REINSTALL EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
5. REINSTALL EGR VALVE
