Seat Belt Buckle Sensor and Its Circuit Inspection

Seat Belt Buckle Sensor and Its Circuit Check

1) Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition mode in "OFF".
2) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON", and select "Data LIST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
3) Check that displayed driver / passenger seat belt statement is correct when fastening and unfastening it referring to Scan Tool Testing and Procedures Scan Tool Data.

If displayed seat belt statement is correct, seat belt buckle sensor and its circuit are in good condition.

If they are not, check wire harness and connections.

If wire and connection are OK, replace seat belt buckle sensor.

Visual Check

Check seat belt buckle sensor and if any of the following conditions is found, replace it with new one.

- Check sensor and its bracket for dents, cracks, deformation or rust.
- Check sensor connector (sensor side and harness side) and sensor connector lock mechanism for damage or crack.
- Check connector terminals for bend, corrosion or rust.
