Precautions for Diagnosing Trouble

- Before using scan tool, read its "Operator's (Instruction) Manual" to know how to use it.
- Keyless start system executes data transmission/reception by means of the radio wave. Therefore, proper operation may not be obtained if door lock function and engine start function of keyless start system are attempted to be used near the place where strong radio wave is emitted (TV and radio broadcasting stations, etc.).
- Keyless start control module controls the following system. Refer to the following sections for maintenance and diagnosis.

- Power window system (refer to Section 9E)
- Immobilizer control system (refer to Section 10C)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) (refer to Section 10D)
- Keyless start system

- If voltage of vehicle battery is very low, the following symptom may occur. Check power supply / ground circuit of keyless start control module or battery voltage, etc.

- Ignition mode cannot be changed from "ON" to "OFF". (Pressing engine switch for about 3 seconds can change the mode to "ACC".)
- Ignition mode repeats "ON" and "OFF".

- When disconnecting keyless start control module connector, disconnect negative (-) cable at battery beforehand.
- Be sure to clear all DTCs after completing troubleshooting.
