SUBJECT:
SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN: SD, REAR AXLE HOUSING

MODEL: 2-DOOR SIDEKICKS BUILT IN CANADA
YEAR: 1993 - 1994

CONDITION:
The Rear Axle Housing Tube to the Differential Case may fracture at the weld. This could result in loss of rear braking and vehicle control, and could cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

CAUSE:
Some Rear Axle Housing assemblies may have been manufactured incorrectly which could allow a welding fracture to initiate between the Axle Housing Tube and Differential Case.

CORRECTION:
Inspect affected vehicles thoroughly, using a special gauge. If it is determined that the Rear Axle Housing does not meet factory specifications, replace the Rear Axle Housing as an assembly.
