SUBJECT:
Navigation System Update,
System MicroCOM
Introduction
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide the instructions for updating the Navigation Operating Software using the Navigation System MicroCOM Update Disc. This update is for the operating system only and does not update the map data in any way. The updated software will address the following issue:
Audio
^ "Reconnect USB device" appears when skipping to the next folder when listening to USB audio.
COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION
The updated software was used in production starting with the VINs shown.
PARTS
The update disc "System-MicroCOM" will be sent to all dealers.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROGRAM UPDATING
Note:
Do not turn the ignition switch off from the Accessory position or start the engine while the update is loading.
1) Turn the ignition switch to the Accessory position.
2) Touch the "Agree" soft-key. The map screen will be displayed.
Note:
Soft-keys are on the touch screen. Hard-keys are the buttons on the panel.

3) Press the eject hard-key to remove any discs from the slot.
4) Insert the program disc into the upper CD/DVD slot.

5) The software update will automatically start. The screen shows:

Note:
It takes about 8 minutes to complete the download.
After the program is updated, the screen shows:
After showing complete, the navigation system restarts the system automatically.
Note:
If the MAP disc is not in the MAP disc slot, the display will show "No map disc". If this is shown, please insert the MAP disc into the MAP disc slot.

6) After the navigation restarts the Start-up CAUTION screen is displayed.
7) Touch the "Agree" soft-key. The map screen will be displayed.
8) Press the eject hard-key to remove the update disc from the slot
Note:
If the navigation does not show the CAUTION screen or the disc does not eject, the update has failed. In this case make sure the update disc is in the correct slot and try the procedure again.
9) Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
WARRANTY/CLAIM INFORMATION
For vehicles within the Basic New Car Limited Warranty period, this repair can be claimed using the table.
