Body - Sunroof Stops Halfway When Opening

SUBJECT: Sunroof Stops Halfway

Introduction

If you encounter a vehicle with a concern of the sunroof stopping mid-travel when opening, it may be caused by an improperly adjusted sunroof glass panel. To correct the condition, a washer will need to be added to properly adjust the sunroof glass panel.

COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION





The washer was installed in production starting with the VINs shown above.

MATERIAL NEEDED





Small Metal Washer with a thickness between 1.0mm and 1.5mm, outside diameter of approximately 12mm and an inside diameter of approximately 6mm.

SERVICE INFORMATION/PROCEDURE

1) Close the sunroof glass and fully open the sunshade.





2) Remove the lid cover on the driver's side by releasing the clips.

3) Operate the sunroof to the up or vent position to allow for easier access.





4) Remove the rear bolt from the driver's side of the sunroof glass retainer.





5) Insert the washer between the sunroof glass retainer tab and the sunroof bracket.

6) Reinstall the bolt for the sunroof glass retainer while ensuring that the washer is properly in place between the glass retainer tab and the sunroof bracket.

Tightening torque: Nm (kgf-m, ft-lb); 4.5 (0.46, 3.3)

7) Verify proper sunroof glass adjustment and operation.

8) Reinstall the driver's side lid cover.
