Flywheel: Service and Repair

Flywheel

REMOVAL

NOTE: The illustration below is for a Turbo model. However, perform the same procedures for the Non-turbo model.

1. Remove the transmission assembly.
2. Remove the clutch cover and clutch disc.
3. Using ST1 and ST2, remove the flywheel.

ST2 499057000 TORX PLUS





INSTALLATION

NOTE: The illustration below is for a Turbo model. However, perform the same procedures for the Non-turbo model.

1. Install the flywheel and ST.

2. Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to the specified torque.
ST 499057000 TORX PLUS PLUS

NOTE: Tighten the flywheel attachment bolts gradually. Each bolt should be tightened to the specified torque in crisscross order.

Tightening torque: 72 Nm (7.3 kgf-m, 52.8 ft. lbs.)





3. Install the clutch disc and cover.
4. Install the transmission assembly.

INSPECTION

NOTE: The illustration below is for a Turbo model. However, perform the same procedures for the Non-turbo model.

CAUTION: Since this bearing is grease-sealed and is a non-lubrication type, do not wash with gasoline or any solvents.

1. Damage on sliding surface of facing and the ring gear. If defective, replace the flywheel.





2. Smoothness of rotation. Rotate the ball bearing while applying pressure in the thrust direction.
3. If noise or excessive play is noted, replace the flywheel.
