TITLE: Seat Belt Chime Activation

SERVICE TIP:

If you encounter a customer concern or during the vehicle PDI you find the seat belt chime activating all the time (with no one in the seat) until the passenger side seat belt is fastened, try the quick and simple procedure outlined below. This information can even be passed on to the customer over the phone thus saving them a possible trip to the dealer and/or the Service Advisor can address this at the write up desk and can quickly have the customer on their way with little or no inconvenience to them:

1) Confirm the condition exists (Chime and warning lamps)
2) Move the passenger seat to its most rearward position and the seat back to its most up right position.
3) Confirm the seat belt warning disappeared.
4) If warning stays on, continue trouble shooting.
5) Call the Technical Support Line, if necessary.
