APPLICABILITY:
2005 Legacy H-6 3.0L Vehicles
SUBJECT:
Noise when turning to "full lock" position
INTRODUCTION
If you encounter a customer complaint of a noise/vibration coming from the engine compartment/ suspension area when turning the steering wheel to the full left or right lock position, it may be caused by the metal mount cover rubbing against the resin part of the motor mount. The noise/ vibration has a metallic rubbing sound and is typically experienced under slight acceleration with the wheel turned to either full lock position. The noise will typically come from the opposite side of the vehicle from the direction of turning.
PRODUCTION LINE CHANGE
A new style motor mount rubber cushion has been used in production starting in late December, 2004 with the VINs shown.
