Front Drive Shaft Boots

Front Drive Shaft Boots

INSPECTION
Inspect the wear, warping, breakage or scratches for boot. If faulty, repair or replace.

REPLACEMENT
1) Disconnect the ground terminal from battery.
2) Jack-up the vehicle, support it with safety stands (rigid racks), and remove the front wheel cap and wheels.

NOTE: Do not remove the axle nut.

3) Remove the stabilizer link.
4) Disconnect the transverse link from the housing.





5) Remove the spring pin which secures transmission spindle to the SFJ.

CAUTION: Use a new spring pin.

6) Remove the EBJ and SFJ boots from the driveshaft.
7) Install the EBJ and SFJ boots to the drive shaft.





8) Install the SFJ on transmission spindle and drive spring pin into the place.

CAUTION: Always use a new spring pin.

9) Connect the transverse link to the housing.
10) Install the stabilizer link.
