Vehicle Speed Sensor 2

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The vehicle speed sensor (output shaft rotation sensor) is mounted to the case (from the outside of the case). The sensor outputs a sine wave signal which is transmitted to the Vehicle speed detection circuit in the combination meter where it is converted to vehicle speed. Vehicle Speed sensor 2 detects front-wheel speed.

SPEED SENSOR 2

The speed sensor 2 is a magnetic pick-up type revolution sensor.

This sensor is installed on the transmission converter case and detects the transmission output gear rotation speed.

8 pulses are sent to speedometer per rotation of speed sensor driven shaft.

CONSTRUCTION

The speed sensor 2 consists of a magnetic resistance element, magnet ring, driven shaft, spring, etc.

OPERATION

As the driven key rotates, the magnet turns to change the magnetic field of the coil.

The coil generates power corresponding to a change in the magnetic field.

One turn of the driven key in the speed sensor sends 8 pulses of AC signal to the combination meter.
