Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The stroke sensor converts stroking amount of the brake pedal into electric signal and outputs it to the Anti-lock Brake System/Traction Control System (ABS/TCS) control module. This signal is output in five levels according to the stroke amount. The stroke sensor is in conjunction with the stop lamp switch and the brake switch (for cruise control), and it is installed on the brake pedal bracket in place of the stop lamp switch for non-TCS vehicle.
