ABS With TCS Trouble Code Charts For Warning Light Codes

DIAGNOSIS
^ Faulty pressure.
^ Faulty stop light switch.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM
^ Traction Control System (TCS) does not operate.

PROCEDURE
1. Check contact point of pressure switch.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect hydraulic unit connector.





c) Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector terminals.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance
(F12) No. 1 & No. 2 / 1 M ohm (With brake pedal depressed)
(F12) No. 1 & No. 2 / 0 ohms (Without brake pedal depressed)

2. Check body short of pressure switch.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect hydraulic unit connector.





c) Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(F12) No. 1 & body / 1 M ohm
(F12) No. 2 & body / 1 M ohm

3. Check harness between pressure switch and ABS/TCS control module.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Connect hydraulic unit connector.
c) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module connector.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector terminals.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance
(P7) No. 6 & No. 18 / 1 M ohm (With brake pedal depressed)
(P7) No. 6 & No. 18 / 0 ohms (Without brake pedal depressed)

4. Check body short of pressure switch harness.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module connector.





c) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(P7) No. 6 & body / 1 M ohm
(P7) No. 18 & body / 1 M ohm

5. Check contact point of stop light switch.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect stroke sensor connectors.
c) Remove stroke sensor.





d) Measure resistance between stroke sensor terminals.





Terminal: No. 2 & No. 3

NOTE: Stroke = 0 when the rod is completely drawn in.

6. Check body short of stop light switch.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect stroke sensor connectors.
c) Remove stroke sensor.





d) Measure resistance between stroke sensor terminal and stroke sensor threads.
Terminal / Specified resistance:
No. 2 & stroke sensor threads / 1 M ohm
No. 3 & stroke sensor threads / 1 M ohm

7. Check power supply of stop light switch.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect stroke sensor connector.





c) Measure voltage between stroke sensor connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified voltage:
(B67) No. 3 & body / 10 - 12 Volts

8. Check input voltage of ABS/TCS control module.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Install stroke sensor.
c) Connect stroke sensor connector.
d) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module connector.





e) Measure voltage between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified voltage:
(P7) No. 7 & body / 10 - 12 Volts (With brake pedal depressed)
(P7) No. 7 & body / 0 Volts (Without brake pedal depressed)
