ABS With TCS Trouble Code Charts For Warning Light Codes

DIAGNOSIS
^ Faulty valve relay.
^ Faulty harness.
^ Faulty ABS/Traction Control System (TCS) control module.

TROUBLE SYMPTOMS
^ ABS does not operate.
^ TCS does not operate.

PROCEDURE
1. Check resistance of valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Remove valve relay.





c) Measure resistance between valve relay terminals.
Terminal / Specified resistance:
No. A & B / 90 ohms

2. Check contact point of valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Remove valve relay.
c) Attach circuit tester probes to terminals as shown in figure.





d) Measure resistance between respective terminals.
Terminal / Specified resistance:
No. C & E / 0 ohms (When 12 volts are applied.)
No. C & E / 1 M ohm (When no voltage is applied.)
No. C & F / 1 M ohm (When 12 volts are applied.)
No. C & F / 0 ohms (When no voltage is applied.)

3. Check short circuit of valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Remove valve relay.





c) Measure resistance between valve relay terminals.
Terminal / Specified resistance:
No. B & F / 1 M ohm

4. Check input voltage of valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect valve relay.





c) Measure voltage between valve relay connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified voltage:
(F11) No. 1 & body / 0 Volts
(F11) No. 3 & body / 12 Volts
d) Turn ignition switch ON.
e) Measure voltage between valve relay connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified voltage:
(F11) No. 1 & body / 12 Volts
(F11) No. 3 & body / 12 Volts

5. Check ground circuit of valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect valve relay.
c) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(F11) No. 6 & body / 0 ohms

6. Check harness between ABS/TCS control module and valve relay.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Disconnect valve relay.
c) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(P6) No. 6 & body / 1 M ohm
e) Connect valve relay.
f) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(P6) No. 6 & body / 0 ohms

7. Check resistance of valve relay to ABS/TCS control module Side.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Connect valve relay.
c) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector terminals.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(P5) No. 1 & (P6) No. 1 / 90 ohms

8. Check body short of harness.
a) Turn ignition switch OFF.
b) Connect valve relay.
c) Disconnect ABS/TCS control module.





d) Measure resistance between ABS/TCS control module connector and body.
Connector & terminal / Specified resistance:
(P6) No. 1 & body / 1 M ohm
