Fuel Pump Control Unit: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Pump Connector:





1. Start and warm engine to operating temperature.
2. Fold down the rear seat back, and turn up the floor mat.
3. Remove access hole lid.
4. Disconnect fuel pump connector (R23).
5. Measure voltage between connector (R23) and body the engine is running.
6. Gradually raise engine speed and confirm the voltage lowers.
7. If the voltage did not lower, check the following:

a. Measure voltage between ECM and body.

SPECIFIED VOLTAGE: (B61) No. 14 - Body/5V, min.

b. Remove fuel pump modulator and measure resistance of harness connector between modulator and fuel pump.

SPECIFIED RESISTANCE:
(R33) No. 1 - (R23) No 4/0 ohms
(R33) No. 1 - (R23) No 3/0 ohms


c. Measure resistance between harness connector between modulator and resistor.

SPECIFIED RESISTANCE: (R33) No. 1 - (R34) No 2/0 ohms
