1. Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
2. Remove secondary piston stopper screw with screwdriver as shown in Fig. 2.
3. Push piston inward, then remove snap ring.
4. Apply pressure to piston assembly while Inserting a small screwdriver into window of piston retainer and raise piston retainer latch as shown in Fig. 3.
5. Remove primary and secondary piston assemblies. Do not disassemble pistons. if disassembled, the spring settings will change.
6. Inspect master cylinder inside diameter to piston clearance, Service limit is not to exceed 0.043 inch.
7. Clean all parts with clean brake fluid, do not use part cleaning fluid or seals will swell.
8. Coat master cylinder inner walls with clean brake fluid, then install secondary piston assembly from repair kit No. 725771240.
9. Install primary piston, then press piston into bore approximately 0.39 inch.
10. Install piston stopper screw and gasket assembly, then torque to 5-6.5 ft. lbs.
11. Apply pressure to primary piston, then install snap ring.
12. Install retainer Fig. 3. Ensure retainer latch is securely engaged with master cylinder groove.
13. Install master cylinder in vehicle, then bleed brake system.
