DTC 31 Throttle Position Sensor Diagnostic Chart:

DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND DIAGRAM

Throttle Position Sensor Connector:

1. CHECK THROTTLE SENSOR.
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
2) Disconnect throttle sensor connector.
3) Measure resistance between throttle sensor connector terminals.

Terminal/Specified value
No. 1 - No.3/5 ohms

4) Measure resistance between terminals while slowly opening throttle valve from the "close" position.

Terminal/Specified value
No. 2 - No. 3/10 - 12 k ohms [Fully close]
No. 2 - No. 3/3 - 5 k ohms [Fully open]
Ensure resistance increases in response to throttle valve opening.

2. CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECU AND THROTTLE SENSOR.
1) Disconnect ECU connectors.
2) Measure resistance of harness connector between ECU and throttle sensor.

(B60) No.3 - (E11) No. 2/0 ohms
(B60) No.2 - (E11) No. 1/0 ohms
(B60) No.1 - (E11) No.3/0 ohms

2) Measure resistance of harness connector between throttle sensor connector and body to check short circuit.

(B11) No. 2 - Body/1 M ohm min.
(B11) No. I - Body/1 M ohm min.
(B11) No. 3 - Body/1 M ohm min.
