Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Signals the control unit whether or not the clutch pedal is depressed. It functions as a safety device, preventing the control unit from activating the starter relay unless the pedal is down. This prevents inadvertent and potentially hazardous attempts to start the car in gear.

On the clutch pedal bracket.
