Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

1. Torque axle nut to approximately 29 ft. lbs.
2. Loosen axle nut 1/8 to 1/10 turn.

3. Measure starting force using a spring scale as shown in Fig. 1. Reading should be 3.1-4.4 lbs.
4. Bend lock plate to locknut in position, then install bearing cap and gasket.
