Wastegate: Testing and Inspection

1. Inspect the hoses between the wastegate valve, turbocharger and control solenoid for looseness or disconnection, as well as cracks or damage.
2. Disconnect the hose from the wastegate diaphragm.
3. Apply 59-69 kPa (9-10 psi) pressure to the diaphragm. Confirm that the linkage and valve move. If the diaphragm leaks or linkage or valve does not move, replace the turbocharger.
