Evaporative Check Valve: Description and Operation

Two-Way Valve:

PURPOSE
Allow expansion and contraction of fuel vapor in the fuel tank to flow in and out of the canister.

LOCATION
In the evaporation hose, near the fuel tank.

OPERATION
^ When evaporation gas pressure in the fuel tank exceeds the specified value, the valve is pressureized to push the spring. This lifts the valve seat so that evaporative gas is discharged to the canister.
^ When evaporation gas pressure in the fuel tank drops below the specified value, the valve moves to close the valve seat. A pin hole is provided in the end of the valve to allow fuel vapors to be drawn through the canister into the fuel tank.
