To ensure the proper operation of the Subaru Cybrid Power Steering System, only IDEMITSU Special Power Steering Fluid should be used. This special power steering fluid can be ordered through normal parts channels using part number K0209A0080.
Caution: When servicing the Cybrid Power Steering System and the fluid color appears to be any color other than clear with a yellow tint, the fluid reservoir must be drained and refilled with IDEMITSU Special Power Steering Fluid only and an investigation as to why the contaminating fluid was added to the system will be necessary to ensure no leaks are present and the system is operating properly. Consult the 1988 Subaru XT Service Manual for servicing and troubleshooting information.
