Auxiliary Purge Control Valve

Auxiliary Purge Control Valve:

PURPOSE
Allows the canister to be purged under boost conditions.

LOCATION
In-line between the canister and the air intake boot.

OPERATION
When intake manifold pressure exceeds a preset level, the auxillary purge solenoid opens a vacuum line between the canister and the intake resonator, before the turbocharger. This allows purging of the canister, but prevents any damage that would be caused if boost pressure was supplied to the canister.
