Caliper Overhaul

FRONT

1. Remove caliper as outlined under ``Caliper, Replace.''
2. Remove sleeve, then lock pin boot, Fig. 2.
3. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove boot ring and piston boot.
4. Using compressed air and a block of wood in caliper body, draw out piston from caliper body.
5. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove piston seal taking care not to damage inner wall of cylinder.
6. Remove guide pin boot from caliper body.
7. Remove retainer and lever cap, then retaining spring from lever and spindle.
8. Using puller 925471000 or equivalent, compress spring washer to eliminate load applied to lever and spindle, then pull out lever and spindle.
9. Remove puller, then connecting link and return spring.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Refer to Fig. 2 for torque specifications.

REAR

1. Remove caliper as outlined under ``Caliper, Replace.''
2. Remove bolts securing caliper support to caliper body, then separate caliper support from caliper body.
3. Remove pads and pad springs.
4. Using compressed air and a block of wood in caliper body, remove piston from caliper body.
