IDENTIFICATION OF WHEEL WEIGHTS
The "MC" wheel weight was named for the Mustang-Capri wheel for which it was developed. Its cross section shape is approximately square (See Figure 1).
FIGURE 2:
The "IAW" wheel weight was named after the Import Aluminum Wheel. Manufacturers such as Nissan and Toyota use this weight. Its cross section appears "teardrop" shaped (See Figure 2).
FIGURE 3:
There is one other type of Aluminum Wheel Weight, labeled "AW". This was used on Chrysler and GM vehicle wheels from mid 1970's to present, and Ford vehicle wheels from 1975 through 1979. Its cross section appears looks rectangular (See Figure 3).
