Fog Lamp - Wire/Connector Color Change

SUBJECT: WIRE COLOR CHANGE

Please be advised that FHI has changed the wire coloring in an area that affects the installation of genuine SOA foglights (SOA 385J101) on the XT Coupe. The large white wire leading from the ignition switch down to the orange/pink six pin connector has been changed to a large black wire with a white tracer leading to an all black six pin connector. When installing foglights, tap into the black wire with white tracer the same way you normally would tap into the previous white wire. Only the wire and plastic connector color has changed.

In addition, when connecting the red wire with the white tracer from the foglight kit to the vehicles 8 pin connector near the steering column, be aware that there are two red wires with white tracers in this connector. The large diameter wire is the one to tap into, not the small diameter wire as indicated in the installation instructions.

1. Black 6 pin connector, (in early production vehicles it was an orange/pink 6 pin connector).

2. Large black wire with a white tracer, (in early production vehicles it was a plain large white wire).

3. Tap this wire from the kit into the vehicle wiring harness at the 8 pin connector near the steering column. Be sure to use the Large Diameter red w/white tracer wire.
