Function
The headlamp range adjustment is installed as an item of passive safety equipment to prevent oncoming traffic from being dazzled.
The incline angle of the low beam can be adapted to the different load conditions of the vehicle using the headlamp range adjustment.

The incline angle is adapted using switch settings 0, 1 and 2 on the selector wheel of the combination switch (S4). Actuation takes place from the selector wheel straight to the left headlamp range adjustment motor (E1m1) in the left front lamp unit (E1) and the right headlamp range adjustment motor (E2m1) in the right front lamp unit (E2).
