^ Automatic wiping when reverse gear engaged
Intermittent wiping
Rear window intermittent wiping is activated by pushing the wiper switch forwards past the detent point. The request is read in by the SAM control unit, which actuates the wiper motor directly. Wiper arm park position feedback is provided by the signal contact that is integrated in the rear-end door wiper motor.
Wiping with washer fluid
The window washer fluid pump is actuated directly by pushing the wiper switch forwards and holding it in position. At the same time, the SAM control unit actuates the rear-end door wiper motor with a time delay of approx. 0.2 s. Three additional wiping cycles are performed after the wiper switch has been released.
Automatic wiping when reverse gear is engaged
If the windshield wiper system is active and the outside temperature is above 5 °C, the rear-end door wiper motor is actuated automatically by the SAM control unit for one wiping cycle when the reverse gear is engaged.
