AR42.10-P-0013-05MCC Mark Brake Lines
Marking of detached brake lines or detached brake hoses
The bolted connections of the brake lines may be opened a maximum of two times. After this the corresponding brake lines must be replaced to prevent leaks, even if no damage can be detected externally.
If it is not clear whether a bolted connection has already been released more than twice, the corresponding brake line should also be replaced.
In the case of repair the identification should be updated accordingly.
Use suitable "yellow" or "red" bolt locking varnish, which is resistant to water, oil and gasoline, and diluted acids and alkaline solutions.
^ After the parts have been screwed together again for the first time the union nut of the corresponding brake line should be marked with "yellow" bolt locking varnish.
Clean the point to be marked beforehand.
^ After the parts have been screwed together again for the second time the yellow bolt locking varnish should be removed and the union nut of the corresponding brake line marked with "red" bolt locking varnish.
Clean the point to be marked beforehand.
^ Brake lines or brake hoses with red marking should be replaced after loosening.
If a brake line has been replaced, then the brake line in question should not be marked in color.
