1 Disconnect strapped down blue 14-pin connector (7) from wiring harness (8).
Only on vehicles up to production date 30.9.11.
2 Connect blue 14-pin plug (6) of car2go adapter (5) to blue 14-pin connector (7).
Only on vehicles up to production date 30.9.11.







3 Attach rental car wiring harness electrical connector (X82) at wiring harness (8).
Only on vehicles up to production date 30.9.11.
Rental car wiring harness electrical connector (X82) must be attached as far up as possible on the wiring harness (8). Otherwise damage to rental car wiring harness electrical connector (X82) or wiring harness (8) may occur upon actuating the brake pedal.







4 Route car2go adapter (5) below strut (11) along wiring harness (8) until it is above SAM control unit.
Only on vehicles up to production date 30.9.11.
Maintain a gap of 20 mm to sharp edge (10) and steering column (9). Otherwise car2go adapter (5) may be damaged.
Do not fix car2go adapter (5) in place yet.







5 Guide smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3) from above between steering column (9) and wiring harness (8).

6 Connect blue 14-pin plug (3) to blue 14-pin connector (4). In vehicles as of production date 1.10.11, blue 14-pin plug (3) is connected to blue 14-pin connector of wiring harness (8) at this point.

7 Route rental car wiring harness (1) and smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3) along wiring harness (8) and fix in place with car2go adapter (5) using cable ties (12), if necessary.







8 Fasten junction of rental car wiring harness (1) at height of lower edge of windshield to interior illumination wiring harness (13) using cable tie (12).

9 Route card reader branch-off line (1.1) in direction of vehicle center.







10 Route GSM antenna branch-off line (1.2) along interior illumination wiring harness (13) and fix in place with felt tape.

11 Clip in retaining clips (14) and allow GSM antenna (2) to hang down.







12 Route smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3) along wiring harness (8) and through radio recess.

13 Fix smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3) and car2go adapter in place (12) at wiring harness (8) using cable ties.
Maintain a gap of 20 mm to sharp edges and to steering column (9). Otherwise, car2go adapter or smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3) may be damaged.

14 Expose vehicle-side radio wiring harness (18).

15 Connect black 8-pin connectors (16, 17) to black 16-pin plug (15) of smart radio car2go branch-off line (1.3).
The black 8-pin connectors (16, 17) are coded and cannot be swapped.
