Vehicle interior
- Check free travel of hand brake, adjust if necessary
Adjustment against a separate order.
- Check indicator lamps and interior illumination for proper operation
- Check headlamp flashers, flashers, turn signal lamps and headlamp range adjustment for proper operation
- Check electrical consumers for proper operation depending on the vehicle equipment: Power windows, interior illumination, horn, rear window heater, seat heater, illumination of switches and display instruments, cigarette lighter and mirror adjustment
Operate consumer switch and check whether the indicator lamp lights up or the adjustment motor starts
- Check controls of heater and ventilation for peoper operation and ease of movement
Ventilation on all stages as well as air vent at the air vents, check.
- Check soft top "open" valve for function
Open and close soft top and in the process check for noises and ease of movement
- Reset maintenance service indicator in instrument cluster
Outside of vehicle
- Check bodywork for paintwork damage
Visual inspection without dismantling parts. Check painted surfaces, body edges and chipping-prone areas for damage.
If necessary repair vehicle paintwork subject tp separate repair order.
- Check the front lamps, rear lamps and side marker lamps.
- Check front front illumination; standing light, low beam (incl. headlamp range adjustment), high beam, front fog lamp and turn signal system (incl. side turn signal).
- Rear lamps: brake light, taillamp, backup lamp, rear for lamp, turn signal system and license plate illumination.
Vehicle illumination by means of suitable equipment
- Check the fluid level in the windshield washer system
If necessary have fluid levels corrected in the workshop. After obtaining special order.
Wheels, brakes
- Brake fluid: Measure water content
Replace subject to separate repair order
- Check tires by means of visual inspection, inside & outside for damage, crack formation and measure thread depth. Correct tire inflation pressure (incl spare if equipped) and enter in bar or psi:
Check specified tire inflation values, see label on fuel filler flap
Wear pattern and tread depth of tires (by means of wear marking) inform customer about wear or damage
- Check front brake pads by means of visual inspection for lining thickness and front brake disks for condition
If necessary commission exact check in the workshop on wheels which have been removed.
After obtaining special order
- For the first time after 40,000 miles, then regularly at each oil service. Plus check the brake lining thickness of the rear drum brake through the inspection holes
If the lining thickness is getting close to the brake lining wear limit, then the exact lining thickness should be established with the brake drum removed.
Underside of vehicle
- Brake lines and brake system: Check for fixing, damages and leaks by means of visual inspection. Check brake system for proper function
Visual inspection of brake lines and brake system for mounting, damage, and leaktightness. Without disassembling underfloor paneling.
- Fixing components and exhaust system: Check for damage and leaks by means of visual inspection
- Engine and transmission: check for damage and leaks by means of visual inspection
- Steering gear: check for wear and external damage
- Check vehicle underside, to the extent that it can be seen, for damage and corrosion by means of visual inspection.
Without disassembling underfloor paneling.
