Doors, Hood and Trunk: Adjustments




ADJUSTMENT

1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.







Standard:







HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and the hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY







a. Adjust hood front/back position and left/right position of hood rear edge.
1. Loosen the hood side hinge bolts.
2. Move the hood to adjust the clearance to within the standard range.
3. Tighten the hood side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10ft.lbf)







b. Adjust up/down position of hood front left and front right corners.
1. Turning the cushion rubber.

HINT: The cushion rubber can be raised and lowered by turning it.







c. Adjust up/down and left/right position of hood front edge.
1. Loosen the hood lock assembly bolts.
2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.
3. Tighten the hood lock assembly bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66in.lbf)

3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.







Standard:







HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedures described below are for the RH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge onto the vehicle body and the door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

4. ADJUST FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

NOTICE: Make sure that the power switch OFF during adjusting door lock strikers.







a. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically by loosening the body side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

b. Tighten the body side hinge bolts after the adjustment.
Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19ft.lbf)







c. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

d. Tighten the door side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19ft.lbf)







e. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
f. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17ft.lbf)

5. INSPECT BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.







Standard:







HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge onto the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

6. ADJUST BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY







a. Adjust the door position.
1. Horizontally and vertically adjust the door by loosening the back door side hinge bolts.
2. Tighten the back door side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 12 N.m (117 kgf.cm, 8ft.lbf)







b. Adjust the striker position.
1. Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting bolts and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.
2. Tighten the striker mounting bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 12 N.m (117 kgf.cm, 8ft.lbf)
