SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

CAUTION:
* Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Service Precautions
* Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may may injure your hands.
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage. Disassembly
HINT
Use the same procedure for the LH and RH sides.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

Removal

2. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE Disassembly

3. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Driver Side) Disassembly

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD Disassembly

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD Disassembly

6. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY Disassembly

7. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD Disassembly

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 clamps.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.





CAUTION:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
