Removal

HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COOLER EXPANSION VALVE: REMOVAL; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

NOTICE:
When removing the cooler expansion valve by itself, be sure to install a new cooler expansion valve and new bolt for suction tube sub-assembly.

1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

2. SEPARATE SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. SEPARATE AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

(a) Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts.





(b) Temporarily install the bolt for the suction hose sub-assembly halfway to the cooler expansion valve.









(c) Hold the bolt and pull it to remove the cooler expansion valve as shown in the illustration.





(d) Remove the 2 O-rings from the evaporator pipe.
