DESCRIPTION
The turn signal flasher assembly in the main body ECU turns on when it receives signals from the headlight dimmer switch integrated with the turn signal switch, causing the turn signal lights to flash.

Inspect the fuse and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK OPERATION OF TURN SIGNAL LIGHT
(a) When the turn signal light switch is operated, check that the appropriate turn signal light flashes.

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
(a) Remove the headlight dimmer switch Removal.
(b) Inspect the turn signal light switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the headlight dimmer switch.
NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the F6 headlight dimmer switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the 4E and 4S main body ECU connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connectors.
(e) Reconnect the headlight dimmer switch connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZ FUSE - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the 4B main body ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

(c) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the 4E main body ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

6. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU

(b) Remove the turn signal flasher assembly from the main body ECU.
(c) Remove the IG1 relay from the main body ECU.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(e) Reinstall the IG1 relay.
(f) Reinstall the turn signal flasher assembly.
(g) Reinstall the main body ECU.

7. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (SYSTEM VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the B1 and B7 headlight assembly connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

(c) Reconnect the headlight connectors.

(a) Disconnect the B1 and B7 headlight assembly connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the B1 and B7 headlight assembly connectors.
(b) Disconnect the 4B main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
(e) Reconnect the headlight assembly connectors.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU
(a) Remove the main body ECU.
(b) Remove the turn signal flasher assembly from the main body ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(e) Reinstall the main body ECU.

11. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the side turn signal light assembly from the outer rear view mirror assembly Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check that the side turn signal light comes on.

(1) Disconnect the I8 and J7 outer rear view mirror assembly connectors.
(2) Disconnect the 4S main body ECU connector.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(4) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
(5) Reconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly connectors.

15. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
(e) Reconnect the rear combination light assembly connectors.

19. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU
(a) Remove the main body ECU.
(b) Remove the turn signal flasher assembly from the main body ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(e) Reinstall the main body ECU.
