MIRROR: OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Mirror Heater)

(a) Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

(1) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the outer rear view mirror.

OK:





If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Mirror Heater)

(a) Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

(1) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the outer rear view mirror.

OK:





If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

(b) Check the mirror heater.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

(2) Connect the cable from the negative battery (-) terminal to terminal 5 (-) and the positive battery (+) terminal to terminal 4 (+). Then check that the mirror becomes warm.

OK:

Mirror becomes warm.

HINT
It takes a short time for the mirror to become warm.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Mirror Heater)

(a) Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Mirror Heater)

(a) Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

(b) Check the mirror heater.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.

(2) Connect the cable from the negative battery (-) terminal to terminal 5 (-) and the positive battery (+) terminal to terminal 4 (+). Then check that the mirror becomes warm.

OK:

Mirror becomes warm.

HINT
It takes a short time for the mirror to become warm.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
