DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Coat the spline of the inboard joint with gear oil.

(b) Align the inboard joint splines and install the drive shaft with a screwdriver and hammer.





NOTICE:
* Face the cut area of the front drive shaft hole snap ring downward.
* Do not damage the oil seal.
* Do not damage the inboard joint boot.

HINT
Confirm whether the drive shaft is securely driven in by checking the reaction force and sound.

2. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Install the drive shaft heat insulator with the 2 bolts and the 2 nuts.

Torque : 16 Nm (166 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

7. CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR Installation

8. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT Installation

9. ADJUST CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID

Procedures

10. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

12. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
