REAR SUSPENSION: REAR COIL SPRING: REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.
3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal
4. SEPARATE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw of the connector lock and disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector.
NOTICE:
Do not remove the connector cover from the connector because the skid control sensor wire may be damaged.
(b) Remove the bolt and the nut, and separate the skid control sensor wire.
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
5. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH
(a) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the rear No. 4 brake tube while holding the rear flexible hose LH with a wrench.
NOTICE:
* Do not kink or damage the brake line.
* Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake line.
(b) Remove the clip and disconnect the rear flexible hose LH from the axle beam.
6. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR PANEL BRACE LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the rear floor panel brace LH.
8. REMOVE REAR FLOOR PANEL BRACE RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
9. LOOSEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the rear axle beam assembly using an engine lift and 2 wooden blocks as shown in the illustration.

CAUTION:
Securely support the rear axle beam assembly to prevent it from falling.
(b) Loosen the 2 bolts.

NOTICE:
Do not remove the bolts.
10. SEPARATE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt while keeping the nut from rotating and separate the shock absorber.
NOTICE:
Remove the nut on the bolt side because the one on the lower side is a jam nut.
11. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING
(a) Lower the engine lift slowly.
(b) Remove the rear coil spring, upper coil spring insulator and lower coil spring insulator.
