Reassembly





STEERING GEAR / LINKAGE: STEERING GEAR: REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL STEERING RACK END SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, install the 2 steering rack end sub-assemblies.

SST : 09922-10010

without SST - Torque : 88 Nm (897 kgf-cm, 65 ft-lbf)

with SST - Torque : 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to a torque wrench.
* This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 345 mm (13.6 in.) and SST with a fulcrum length of 131.5 mm (5.18 in.).
* If using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length that is not 345 mm (13.6 in.), calculate the torque specification for the torque wrench and SST based on the "without SST" torque specification Service Precautions.

2. INSTALL TIE ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Install the lock nut and the tie rod sub-assembly LH to the steering rack end sub-assembly until the matchmarks are aligned.

(b) Tighten the lock nut.

Torque : 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL TIE ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.

4. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Temporarily install the lock nut and the tie rod end sub-assembly LH to the tie rod sub-assembly until the matchmarks are aligned, then temporarily tighten the lock nut.

HINT
After adjusting toe-in, fully tighten the lock nut.

5. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
