Removal





SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

HINT
The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH to the extent that the side No. 1 trim assembly RH can be removed.

6. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER Removal

7. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Remove the back door weatherstrip to the extent that the side No. 1 trim assembly RH can be removed.

8. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER Removal

9. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY Removal

10. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and the shoulder anchor.





(b) Disconnect the pretensioner connector.

(1) Using a screwdriver, release the locking button.

(2) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the pretensioner connector.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts, the 2 hooks and the retractor.
