Rear Window Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR WINDOW CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT REAR WINDOW CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) With the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the roof side pillar garnish or roof headlining with a new one:

* Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the roof side pillar garnish and roof headlining around the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly.





2. INSPECT REAR WINDOW CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)





CAUTION:
For rear window curtain shield airbag assembly removal and installation procedures, see pages Removal and Installation, and carefully follow the correct procedure.

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) With the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly removed from the vehicle, if there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly with a new one:

* Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the rear window curtain shield airbag assembly.

* Any cracks or other damage to the connector.
