Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)





(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) With the front seat side airbag installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the front seat with a new one:

* Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seat side airbag assembly.

2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)





CAUTION:
For front seat side airbag removal and installation procedures, Removal and Reassembly, and carefully follow the correct procedure.

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) With the front seat side airbag removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the front seat a new one:

* Any cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seat side airbag assembly.

* Any cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector.
