SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: STEERING PAD: INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.
1. INSTALL STEERING PAD
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(c) Connect the 2 airbag connectors.

NOTICE:
* Do not use a steering pad that has been dropped.
* Match the color of the airbag connector with that of the steering pad assembly, and install the airbag connector.
(d) Push in the 2 locking buttons.
NOTICE:
Securely lock the locking button.
(e) Connect the horn terminal.
(f) Engage the pins into the spring clips behind the horn button assembly to install the steering pad.
NOTICE:
Pull the horn button assembly to ensure that it is securely engaged.
HINT
Install the right-side pin of the horn button assembly first.
2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
3. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
