DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives information regarding the door courtesy switch and door lock position switch, and turns on the map light assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Turn the map light assembly switch to the DOOR position.

(e) All doors closed (door courtesy switches OFF).

(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(g) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

Main Body

OK:

The illuminated entry system operates normally when operating it through the Techstream.

NG -- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the map light assembly Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the H1 map light assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(d) Reconnect the map light assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the H1 map light assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Reconnect the map light assembly connector.

(e) Reconnect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

(b) Remove the main body ECU from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Reinstall the main body ECU.

(e) Reinstall the instrument panel junction block assembly.

NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal
