DESCRIPTION

* The main body ECU receives the following signals:

* Light control switch TAIL, HEAD, or AUTO signal

* Dimmer switch HIGH or HIGH FLASH (PASS) signal

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

NG -- INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the headlight dimmer switch assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D24 headlight dimmer switch assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the D42 main body ECU connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connectors.

(e) Reconnect the headlight dimmer switch assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal
