Disassembly





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 side.

3. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 side.

5. REMOVE BLOWER MOTOR WITH FAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 screws and blower motor with fan sub-assembly.





6. REMOVE QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

(a) Remove the 2 screws and quick heater.





7. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cooler cover.





8. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the heater radiator unit.





9. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

(a) Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and detach the cooler expansion valve.





(b) Remove the 2 O-rings from the cooler evaporator.

10. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clip and air conditioning amplifier.





11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the screw and instrument panel mounting bracket.





12. REMOVE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 3 screws and damper servo.





13. REMOVE HEATER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the screw.





(b) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the heater accessory.

14. REMOVE AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and the 2 guides and remove the air mix damper control cable.

15. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the heater control cable.

16. REMOVE BLOWER RESISTOR

(a) Remove the 2 screws and the blower resistor.





17. REMOVE AIR FILTER CASE

(a) Disengage the claw and remove the air filter case.





18. REMOVE CLEAN AIR FILTER

(a) Remove the clean air filter.





19. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 clamps.





(b) Using a knife, cut off the protector, as shown in the illustration.

(c) Disengage the 10 claws and remove the heater case (lower case).





(d) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the heater case (pipe cover).





(e) Remove the cooler evaporator with cooler thermistor.





(f) Remove the 2 O-rings from the cooler evaporator.
