1NR-FE COOLING: RADIATOR: REMOVAL

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

Removal

3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT ABSORBER Disassembly

4. REMOVE BATTERY





(a) Separate the negative and positive battery terminals.

(b) Remove the nut, loosen the nut and remove the battery clamp.





(c) Remove the battery.

(d) Remove the battery tray.





5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER AND HOSE

(a) Disengage the wire harness clamp and disconnect the intake mass air flow meter connector.





(b) Disconnect the ventilation hose.

(c) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose.

(d) Disengage the 2 clamps and 2 guides and remove the air cleaner and hose.

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the air cleaner filter element.





7. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE

(a) Disengage the hose clamp.





(b) Loosen the clip and disconnect the reserve tank hose from the water filler.

8. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Loosen the clip and disconnect the No. 3 radiator hose from the radiator.





9. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Loosen the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator.





10. SEPARATE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Separate the hood lock control cable from the hood lock, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the hood lock control cable.





11. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the hood courtesy switch connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.





(b) Disengage the washer inlet clamp.





(c) Disconnect the horn connector.





(d) Remove the 5 bolts and the upper radiator support.

12. REMOVE FAN SHROUD





(a) Remove the washer inlet.

(b) Disengage the claw and remove the piping clamp.





(c) Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.





(d) Remove the bolt from the ECM.

(e) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the fan shroud from the vehicle.





13. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 claws on the condenser and remove the radiator from the vehicle.





NOTICE:
Do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or piping when removing the radiator assembly.

(b) Remove the 2 cushions and 2 grommets.





14. REMOVE RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG

(a) Remove the radiator drain cock plug from the radiator.

15. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL

(a) Remove the 5 support seals from the radiator.
