Removal





INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.





2. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

4. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal

5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Removal

9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

10. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

11. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 [C] bolts.





(b) Disengage the 2 claws and the 7 clips and separate the lower instrument panel.

(c) Disconnect the connector.





(d) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.

(e) Disengage the 3 claws and disconnect the hood lock control lever.





13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips and remove the instrument side panel LH.





14. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console upper panel.





16. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH NO. 1 PANEL

(a) Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Disengage the 9 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish No. 1 panel.





18. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

(a) Disengage the 4 clips.





(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.





20. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX COVER

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips and remove the front console box cover.





21. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 8 clips and separate the lower center instrument cluster finish panel.





(b) Disconnect all of the connectors.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the No. 2 heater control cable.





(d) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the air mix damper control cable.





22. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

(a) Disengage the 6 clips.

(b) Disconnect the connector.

(c) Rotate the clamp 90° in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage it, and remove the center No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel.

23. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and stereo opening cover.





24. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Remove the [C] bolt.





(c) Disengage the 5 claws and 6 clips and remove the lower instrument panel.

25. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 3 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.





27. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the [F] bolt.





(b) Disengage the 6 clips and remove the upper instrument panel.

28. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

(a) Remove the 3 [F] bolts and [E] screw.





(b) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips and remove the lower instrument panel.

29. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal

30. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect all of the connectors.

(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the antenna cord.





(c) Remove the [G] bolts and disengage the clamp.





(d) Disengage the wire harness clamp.





(e) Remove the 2 [F] bolts and 4 [B] screws.





(f) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel.

32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

33. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the clamp.





(b) Remove the 3 [A] screws and remove the defroster nozzle.

34. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

35. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT

(a) Remove the 2 [A] screws and remove the No. 2 side defroster nozzle duct.





36. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 5 [A] screws and remove the No. 2 heater to register duct.





37. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the [A] screw and remove the No. 1 heater to register duct.





38. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

(a) Remove the No. 2 instrument panel cushion.





39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the instrument panel cushion.





40. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

(a) Remove the 3 No. 1 instrument panel cushions.





41. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

42. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT Removal

43. REMOVE SPARE SWITCH HOLE COVER

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the spare switch hole cover.
