K41B CVT: CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE SYSTEM: P2769, P2770: Short in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit (Shift Solenoid Valve SL)


DESCRIPTION

The ECM turns on or off solenoid SL to control the oil pressure applied to the lock up relay valve and turns the lock up on or off.





MONITOR DESCRIPTION

These DTCs indicate an open or short in the lock-up solenoid SL circuit. When there is an open or short circuit in any shift solenoid valve circuits, the ECM detects the problem, illuminates the MIL and stores the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY (ECM INPUT SOLENOID RESISTANCE)

(a) Disconnect the ECM connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

2. REPLACE ECM P0705

(a) Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transaxle.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
