BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1413, C1275, C1276, C1414: Front Speed Sensor RH Output Malfunction
C1414 - Front Speed Sensor LH Output Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Refer to DTCs C1401 and C1402 C1401.





HINT
* DTC C1413 and C1275 are for the front speed sensor RH.
* DTC C1414 and C1276 are for the front speed sensor LH.

WIRING DIAGRAM

Refer to DTCs C1401 and C1402 C1401.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.
* Check the speed sensor signal after replacement Test Mode Procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MOMENTARY INTERRUPTION) C1405

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - FRONT SPEED SENSOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT SPEED SENSOR) C1401

NG -- CHECK FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Perform the sensor check in the Test Mode procedure Test Mode Procedure.

OK:

All Test Mode DTCs are cleared.

NG -- CHECK FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.

(d) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

5. CHECK FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION C1401

NG -- INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR CORRECTLY Installation
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR TIP C1401

NG -- CLEAN OR REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. INSPECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR ROTOR C1401

NG -- CLEAN OR REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR ROTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - FRONT SPEED SENSOR) C1405

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (SENSOR INPUT) C1405

NG -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

10. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.

(d) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

11. REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR C1401

12. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.

(d) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

13. REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR ROTOR

(a) Remove the front speed sensor rotor.

HINT
If the front speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the front drive outboard joint shaft assembly.

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.

(d) Check if the same DTC is recorded Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
